Privacy notice
Version 2026-10-16.2
INSTRATE LLC, California, USA (“INSTRATE”, “we”) is responsible for the personal information described here. It covers the Strategic Fitness Advantage Engine and the accounts people create on it.
What we hold
- Your account: your name, your work email, and your password, which our sign-in provider stores only in scrambled (hashed) form.
- Your company: its name, its industry, and the public name or website you give us for research.
- Your diagnostic: your answers to the twenty diagnostic questions about your company.
- Your consent: which version of these documents you accepted, and when.
- Payments: Stripe handles your card. We receive a confirmation and a customer reference, never your card number.
- Activity: a record of actions taken in the service, kept for security.
We also research your company from public sources. Public material we cite can name your company’s executives, as published.
How we use it
We use this information to provide the service and your report, to take payment and issue invoices, to keep the service secure, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Your diagnostic answers serve your own report only. They never enter the benchmark we compare companies against. Your company’s external assessment enters a published benchmark only with your separate, written consent.
Your market research and your Next Strategy Brief are generated automatically. To produce them we send your company name, website, industry and assessment scores, together with the strategy choices you enter, to a third-party language model provider. We do not send your individual diagnostic answers. The provider holds this material for up to 30 days and does not use it to train its models. Your assessment data is stored in the European Union.
Service providers
These companies process information for us, each for the task shown:
| Provider | Task | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and sign-in | Frankfurt, Germany |
| Vercel | Application hosting | Frankfurt, Germany; a United States company |
| Anthropic | Artificial intelligence and web search for the market research, and writing the Next Strategy Brief. It receives your company's name, website, industry and assessment scores, the public evidence gathered about your company, and the strategy choices you enter, and not your individual diagnostic answers. It holds this material for up to 30 days; material it flags for a breach of its usage policy can be held for up to two years. | United States |
| Stripe | Payments and invoices | United States |
| Sending account and sign-in emails. An email about your market research names your company and says how many of the assessment questions public evidence could answer. | United States |
Some providers are in the United States, so your information can be processed there, under the safeguards those providers offer for international transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information and your diagnostic answers, keeping only records the law requires, such as payment records.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop a use you object to. Residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom and California hold these rights under their local law, and we extend them to every customer. Using them never changes how we treat you.
Write to info@instrate.com. We reply within 30 days.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections. It is read only on our servers, and each person reaches only their own company’s information.
Children
The service is for businesses and for adults acting for them.
Changes
The version at the top of this page changes whenever this notice does. We tell you about material changes before they apply to you.
